Talin's last day in the field.
In SLT1 recovered a ceramic spindle whorle at the bottom of locus 49 basically on top of locus 47 clay floor.(Ar/Ts.SLT1.49.C.1). Finished cleaning and photographed locus 18 pit and began defining its subsurface. A black circle overlapping the pit may indicate an earlier or later pit. Will explore this further tomorrow.
Also cleaned and photographed loci 41-43 feature/floor complex since we need to dig into locus 43 floor to follow out locus 44 stone floor.
Much of the day was spent with Talin and I taking pollen samples throughout upper floor loci in southern half of trench. Methodology outlined in notebook. Floors 10, 19, 34, and 36 and features 27, 40, and 50 covered in today's sampling.
During sampling locus 34 floor, collected a small put important carbon sample that may help clarify the chronology of the trench since it will hopefully give us something to compare with the radiocarborn from north of the fortification wall collected earlier in the week.
