Narrative

As the season comes to a close, we are pushing to complete the excavation of this operation. Today we worked in the southwest corner, creating two new loci, 17 and 18, the former just above the floor and the latter, I think, corresponding with the floor of locus 15. We then created locus 19 to capture the subfloor deposit across the entire interior of the room. The matrix is a medium brown, rocky, and clayey silt. Specs of charcoal were found across locus 16. One sample collected. In excavating locus 17 it became clear that the wall of locus 13 extends into the southern baulk. Also spent time today on locus 5, the top of the upper wall. Gradually removing stones of this presumed wall (not well preserved) in order to expose the exterior face of the lower wall.
