In order to expose more of the locus 48 clay floor in SLT1 for pollen sampling, we pushed back the locus 36 clay floor and uncovered part of a stone floor against the locus 22 wall. The stone floor is resting on the locus 48 clay floor, but is not likely a continuation of the large stone floors on the north side of the trench. Stone floor will be locus 54. Seems to be isolated to a 1x2m area, but we'll see if it expands as we take down locus 36. Artifacts collected as we expose locus 48 floor will be collected as locus 36 since they are in the surface of the 36 floor. In the north half of trench, we're still taking down locus 49 located vertically between locus 47 clay floor and locus 32 clay floor. Took a carbon sample on top of the locus 47 floor at 194cm below datum (Ar/Ts.SLT1.47.C14.1). In SLT3, collected more charcaol from locus 13 near the SW corner opposite the stone basin at 222cm below datum (Ar/Ts.SLT3.13.C14.6). Exposed bedrock along the south stone wall as it slopes down along the natural contour. Dug a window near SE corner to see how far bedrock is here. Wall continues, but bedrock is still a ways down. Came across a slightly lighter clay that will be locus 14 when we come down on it more extensively.
