Today we walked one (roughly 1.5 km) transect. This occurred in the area that connects the Aparan and Lusagyugh survey quadrants. We moved east from the southern Aparan bay margin to the Aparan-Lusagyugh road.
In the morning, Ian, Amy and I went to take some aerial photography (via drone) of Nigavan Berd 5. This proved to be quite successful. Sadly, due to insufficient wifi/ drone-tablet communications we could not perform additional drone survey of Aparani Berd from the north-west vantage point as we had anticipated. The drone's wifi box was charged so we remain unclear as to the source of this error. Concurrently, Alan, Salpi, and Karen pursued some additional surface collection along the right bank of the Kasakh terrace (from where much chipped stone material has been collected).
In our afternoon's Lusagyugh transect, I encountered little of particular significance. I recorded the presence of several Soviet (modern) irrigation cisterns/junctions and pipes in the first half of my transect. The second half, however, was largely taken up by Soviet planned forests and furrowed hillsides. I also walked through a bee smoking area.
