Today we broke our season transect record by walking 5 transects from Nigavan to the main highway and back. Transect 15 ran east and ended at a barley field before the road. There were many rock outcroppings along the way but no clear signs of burials, walls, or surface materials. Transect 16 ran west towards Nigavan and was similarly lacking in clear archaeological evidence. Transect 17 again ran east towards the road and I had no finds. Transect 18 ran West towards Nigavan and was the first transect of the day where I took two points, both artifact scatters of a few small pieces of non-diagnostic obsidian. One was near the center of the transect while the second was near the very end. Transect 19 ran East towards the road and I gathered an obsidian scatter near the end of the transect where the ground has eroded down to the bedrock. This transect also had along it a rock shelter which Karen investigated and where we picked up a piece of obsidian and a sherd.
