Today was essentially a half day of work as we spent the morning droning Tsaghkahovit, viewing the excavations at Gegharot Fortress and Kurgans, and touring Aragatsi Berd (where we found a tripartite phallus stone or "idol" in red tuff.
After lunch we continued to walk transects just southwest of Aparan. This was an area of low productivity in general, full of clearance walls and amelioration, but we did identify several Upper (according to Karen) Paleolithic artifact scatters and undated canal traces.
On our way home, we discovered a khachkar fragment erected as a monument of sorts just west of the southbound M3 shoulder where our dirt road met the highway.
