Narrative

Today was a busy day in T38. As near the end of the indefinite expansion process, the day was spent trying to bring the trench to a common elevation. Specifically, we channeled our efforts on articulating the face of locus 15 (the N/S terrace wall), excavating the surrounding loci 13 and 14. It became clear that the face of L15 is particularly well-preserved in the NE corner of the unit. We have almost four discernible courses of stones. As you move further south along the wall the preservation decreases considerably. While there is a discernible line still, this is known through the presence of merely one or two courses. In our articulation efforts we discovered Ar/Ge.T38.13.L.01, a red obsidian arrowhead that appears to be of EB morphology. Excavating in the northern half of the unit we were also able to discern the continuation of Wall 9 and established locus 16 to delineate the space to the north outside of the wall.

Once we complete our cleaning efforts, we will take photos (including aerial) of the respective loci and unit at large, elevations, metrics, and then (alas) begin excavations likely in locus 7 (the interior of the semi-circiular architecture).
