T01 - Burial 02: Today the guys (with LA's assistance) managed to break off part of the large basalt capstone like stone over the southern wall of the chamber and then roll it out of the area. Spontaneous traditional dancing ensued! With Hovo signing. Argisti was definitely involved.
Once it was broken, back to cleaning things up in the chamber. That is when I realized the upside down large vessel had been broken. Totally in a bad mood. The loci and soil matrixes also go confusing as things had dried and or been moved. Hindsight, I should have finished in the open chamber and then dealt with the all/entrance area. Annoyed to have lost possible good PB data! And why are teenage boys so vexing, illogical, and yet convinced they know best?
I got it all cleaned up and covered things up. There are sherds broken throughout the chamber. A clavicle in the SE corner next to a broken sherd. LA is convinced this all means that a second subsequent butial was put in and the wall represents this later construction. The shered and maybe human remains were broken in the process. An interesting theory and I want to find out if that was the case!
SW and LA kept excavating the human remains in T01 Burial 01. Perservation is mixed. The human remains really collapsed post-depositionally into a mess!
