July 24 (? missing a day somewhere...)
Back to work on a Sunday. Ugh. But progress.
LA went to Gegharot for EB bones.
I had a plan...
In B02, I worked to clean everything again and photo. Since Arhshot left, no drone photos as RB had requested. LTM drew on Saturday. Took out what remains and sherds I could. Then I called AEC to come up and remove soil from the vessel. She did a great job - this is when we realized the vessel had broken from a part of the tuff wall falling inside of it. Most of the broken sherds were inside. Therfore we are pretty sure much of the soil was not originally inside of the vessel. She did find a cow leg bone inside of the vessel. The soil towards the mouth (since upside down) seemed to be different and perhaps the original contents.
While she was doing that, I oversaw the guys working in T02 and expanded it (50cm on NE and SE sides of the trench. None of the guys wanted to work today... I don't blame them, but damn if they aren't complainers.
Back to T01 Burial 02, where I took out the vessel, cleaned up the long bones in the corner (tibias! I think....), photoed, took them out, and did a little more cleaning.
No lunch was had.
In T01, SW finished cleaning the skeleton in the morning, we took photos and she started removing in the afternoon... man those bones and concreted in to compacted clay and wet! I helped here in the afternoon, showing her how to take out bones and vessels. AEC also helped a ton.
We worked until 5pm. We were called home and honestly both getting really tired. So close to finishing, but there are still ribs, long bones, and extremities in Burial 01.
