This morning, we groundtruthed two sites found on the satellite imagery. The first (Ar/Ku.SAB16.27) looked similar to the other Medieval-period sites we've seen, with room blocks and some double-faced architecture. The site, especially on its south side, was disturbed - it looked like clearance had been pushed up against some of its walls - and we didn't find any materials. The second site (Ar/Ku.EF16.65) was high up on the flank of the mountain, and as we walked around and noted the interesting standing and stacked stones nearby, a storm rolled in. We got trapped in mud on our way down the mountain; by the time a tractor pulled us and the UAZ out of the hole and we got back to the M3, the workday was effectively over.
