Today we had trouble getting far enough west of the village of Aragats to fill in the southernmost region of the survey quadrant. However, after driving a bit and then hiking in, we managed to walk two east-west transects (79 and 80) near the southern boundary of the survey region. On 79, I found some architecture in the hillside and two burials, but on 80, I didn't find anything other than modern constructions. On 81, we were walking north, to the west of the forest preserve area. There, I groundtruthed two parallel lines that I'd seen from the satellites and determined that they appear relatively recent and sort of like strangely parallel clearance walls. Inside them, I also found a looted cist burial, which made me suspicious of the whole slope, but after wandering around, I couldn't find anything identifiable as a burial. During this transect, Salpi also found a burial cluster, so I used it as a training opportunity for Bryan. We didn't finish Transect 81 until after around 4 and had to make our way to the UAZ, over two km away.
