Karen and I ground truthed the remaining portion of the gorge. Visibility was better but did not find anything. We exited the gorge at the northern mouth and ground truthed a new hilltop area and located approximately 5-6 cromlechs. This is now the northernmost extent of burial clusters at Mirak before the Tsaghkahovit Plain. We then regrouped with Alan and Ian and transected the southern portion of the area adjacent to the burial clusters found on 7/4/17. I located a paved cromlech, a clear cobble wall running WSW-ENE on the southern face of the incline that began in a straight line and curved north towards the hilltop. This is a very interesting site but evidence of a hillfort is not yet promising. Could very well be just a burial cluster with some terracing. I ended the transect at the beginning of a barley field and later continued in the opposite direction, and found nothing.
