Narrative

Our work today focused mostly on a trip to identify a potential site north of gegharot on a Pambak hilltop discovered by Dima Narimanishvili, who has paid us a 48-hour visit. While the site turned out to be a Soviet era geodesic marker (mapping station) surrounded by a modern "cromlech" of andesite cobbles, 1m wide, we also documented a piece of isolated architecture and a modern shrine there. We had incredible views for panoramic photography covering the Pambak Valley, Shirak, Tsaghkahovit Plain, and Aparan Valley.

We then took Dima for a tour of the current Gegharot excavations and used our waning minutes to return to Aparan to attempt to locate a cemetery from the monuments list (2.2 / 1) that is allegedly located 700m southwest of the Kasakh Basilica. While we didn't find it there, we have some leads for opening up further investigation.
