Today we focused on taking Mirak Operation 03 down to bedrock and continuing to clean off the 2 meter extension to the South over the wall. The wall (Locus 05) is nearly clean and by tomorrow will be ready for final pictures. The original 2x2 section of the trench was brought down to bedrock continuing as Locus 04 to bedrock. A Locus 06 was opened to account for a pit which seems to be a natural bedrock form. The pit only yielded one sherd and a flat round piece of baked clay. After some quick cleaning work operation 03 should be ready for final photos tomorrow. In the last hour of the day, I also laid out the 1 meter extension of Operation 02. This extension extends operation 02 one meter to the NE, turning the operation into a 3m X 4m. Hopefully this extension will help us to better understand the NW wall of the corner as well as help us to remove some of the rock collapse in the room and reveal the interior of the room.
