Narrative

Most of today was dedicated to transect walking and data collection east of Chknagh village, as we walked NS transects in the foothills heading ultimately toward Dzoraglukh. First thing in the morning, however, we collected RGB and thermal data at the EB site just west of Chknagh village. This will potentially help us to detect buried tombs there.

With Arsho as part of our team, we walked 5-person transects, two before lunch, followed by 3 3-person transects after lunch, as Ian and Arsho went home in order to tend to other aerial and GIS duties. There were no major finds in this region, as the expanse between the culturally active places of Chknagh and Dzoraglukh appears relatively empty at present. We will continue to collect data as we move east this week, although we may spend a significant amount of time tomorrow helping Salpi at Mirak.
