As we kept removing locus 1 we uncovered another group of stones located approx. 40 cm from the N baulk and distributed linearly running in WE direction. Locus 1 transitions into a lighter brown layer of subsoil that is, however, still rather superficial and akin to topsoil (lots of roots etc.). Nonetheless, I decided to give this a new locus number (locus 2) in order to control material density and distribution according to depth. The material is still rather abundant, with bones, obsidian, and pottery of both LB and EB typologies, thus characterising it as a mixed layer.
