Today we continued excavating locus 2 by shovel. We also decided to remove the stone accumulation identified in the SE corner of the trench since the investigation didn't confirm this to be an architectural feature. So far the only stone accumulation that seems to have an orientation and an intentional location is the one found along the N side, indicated as locus 3. Locus 3 was covered by 1 and 2 and sits on locus 2. Although the stones composing this locus appear to be floating, they also seem to be faced in an intentional fashion. So far the situation is insufficiently informative to understand whether this may be or not an architectural feature. Given the uncertainty, we decided to split the areas N and S of locus 3, the latter of which has been named locus 4.
