Narrative

Well thank Magdu. Today we had a rain day here... Even though I'm not actually sure it rained for the better part of the day at Gegharot.

We began operation pottery reading and the results were pretty consistent with what we expected on the western slope based on previous seasons. We began looking at T43 -- the bust on the southwest part of the slope. This pottery (which was not all too high a volume) was predominately EB with a few LB sherds. We also looked at the materials from Ana's first operation T45, which revealed a combination of EB and LB materials.

In exciting ceramics news we looked at about half of the finds from T44. It became clear that about 80% of the materials are characteristically EB while 20% are LB. If it helps with bigger picture understanding, most of the LB materials are in the shallower wash levels (with the exception of the pits). I am increasingly led to believe that we are dealing with an EB room that was utilized during the later LB occupation.
