Continued to excavate locus 5 and 6. The dimensions of locus 6 changed when we encountered a more packed clay surface roughly above WC301. This area became C7, and by the end of the day we began to uncover the continuation of WC301. Also created locus 8 to demarcate the area exterior to WC301. As in C7, no clay was found in this area. Material densities in locus 7 and 8 are low so far. Locus 3 is still open. We did very little there today, but did find another mortar. Also did some work in locus 5, where a very gray, sandy level emerged. Is this the same disintegrating rock seen in C7?
