Once again, we worked in three trenches today. We finished breaking and clearing the rocks in C7. We continued to clear and excavate locus 12 in C8. In C10, we completed locus 3, and then encountered a tan clay surface. This became locus 5. As we excavated this locus we encountered the top course of WC301. It is not clear how or whether this wall continues. One carbon sample was taken from locus 5, and the surface was generally speckled with spots of charcoal, not large enough to sample. In the sw side of the trench we continued to remove rocks and to expose the faces of two walls: the citadel wall and the wall that runs from the nw baulk to the center of the trench.
