Continued to work in three trenches today. In C7 and C8, we cleaned the trenches in preparation for Hasmik. In C10, we continued to excavate locus 5, which was rich in small specks of charcoal. In locus 2 we encountered several changes. After passing through a floor, we encountered an ashy construction fill. Beneath this was a more ashy, silty surface. This surface marks the beginning of locus 7. Towards the middle of locus 2 we encountered a series of aligned rocks. Not yet clear whether this is part of WC301, but it marks the nw boundary of locus 7. We also encountered a severe depression of this silty surface, perhaps a pit. This became locus 6.
