Narrative

We began today by excavating locus 6 - the exterior of the wall. Although we did not reach a lower course of this wall, we did find an obsidian arrow head. We then concentrated on locus 8, bringing it down to the level of locus 6. It was here that we found the mortar. Towards the SW of locus 8 we uncovered a series of rocks with level faces that seem to comprise a floor [or wall?]. Finally, a tan clay emerged in patches in this locus. The extent of this surface is not yet clear. Tomorrow we will probably focus on this tan clay, the emeging floor, and the citadel wall.
