Narrative

Several small finds today, starting in locus 7, where we found what might be a jar stopper, a whetstone and a bone blade. Created several new loci. 13, for the floor that straddled loci 9 and 10. A distinct soil change to a dark, almost black color, [visible mostly in the baulks] led us to create new loci, with 14 replacing 9, and 15 and 16 replacing 10. Both of these exhibit this new, darker soil, though at different levels. Several carbon samples were found in 14, and one in 15. Also, a model ceramic wheel was found in 14. In locus 11, many more rocks emerged. Some are exterior to the wall, in no apparent order. Others seem to constitute a continuation of the wall [to the nw], though at a lower course, and smaller, than the big boulders already exposed.
