Worked in both trenches today. Various architectural mysteries. In WSC, three courses of the west wall are now exposed, but towards the north of this wall the top course appears to be floating. In this trench we also exposed three courses of the north wall. Just as the day ended we encountered a clay level - perhaps a floor - which will be the start of locus 5. In WSJ we continued to work in the extension. Passed through a wash level (locus 6) and then a lighter brown soil with patches of clay. Still not clear where the south wall of this trench is. The two large rocks that are visible on the surface appear to be floating. Found a carbon sample in locus 7.
