Adam was at Tsagh today and we shot corner points and datums for all new trenches as well as the WSC2 extension (top of locus 11). In WSL we started the day by cleaning up baulks and pushing back along the NE baulk to try and expose the wall before troweling the clay and plaster floor and taking samples. This involved removing some topsoil from the north corner and many fallen rocks. Created locus 4 for all materials that emerged from this search for the wall along the northeast. The area was full of fallen rocks so couldn't really detect soil changes. Hence one locus for all these materials. Once a huge boulder fell in the trench (on which datum 1 once was) the rest of the day in WSL was spent trying to break this boulder. Will have to finish tomorrow. In WSK we continued in locus 4. Adam suggested that I draw the section of the NW baulk, where there are four large rocks in a row that might be wall fall since they are resting on silt, and then remove them and push back to try and find the course of the wall. Will draw section tomorrow. While excavating in the east quadrant of locus 4 we encountered a mottled area with orange clay, yellow clay, and a clayish green sand interspersed. This green clayish sand has not been seen before. Are these different prep materials for a floor or are the natural? Pushed this quadrant down to bedrock. Very few materials. Adam and I decided it was not necessary to take the rest of the trench to bedrock.
