Narrative

In A, we are continuing with A2 because there have been no changes. As we get deeper, there are more and more rocks here - I have been taking them out b/c they are not even remotely linear, but there are more rocks beneath them so I am a little nervous about it. Still relatively less material than there was in B1, although it by no means sterile. In B there was a small area of B2 left, so it was removed and one bag of all materials was kept. Once elevations were taken, the workers began B5, which covered nearly the entire trench, except for the area behind Wall B3. (Some wash was removed from here as B6, but it is not at the same level as the rest of the trench - see below) B5 continues the pattern seen at the bottom of B2 - the tan material is only appearning the SW corner, and although it is slowly extending to the north and east it is still very limited in extent. There are still very large chunks of charcoal coming out of this material -C14 sample taken. Also found a burned beam. Traced it out - about 86 cm long and 10 cm wide. It is oriented 20 degrees west of magnetic north. Another beam today - 26 cm long and 11 wide, but this one is oriented almost exactly north-south. See sketches in the notebook) At the end of the day, the tan soil reaches nearly to the east baulk. In B6, behind wall B3, we removed some wash today, and we found most of a bowl in the section - it was photographed and removed. Adam and Ruben want to find the floor in the rest of the room before we dig more in this area.
