Narrative

Continuing today with the E525 northern shrine-wall cleaning. This work appears to be revealing extensive cobbles, but as the wall extends diagonally through the balk into T16A it remains difficult to differentiate wall from fall. We also have begun cleaning on top of the southern shrine wall, locus E528. Work in the new E526 cut has begun to expose cobbles and possible bedrock (sandy rock deposits) on the southern side of the operation. Under the E523 compact, mottled (roasted?) level (now open only in front of the possible hearth/furnace feature) we have begun to expose silty grey soil with small and thick LB sherds - soil sample taken.
