Cleaning in southern E526 has clarified the relationship between the EB vessel and the cobbles which seem to be embedded in a bedrock-clay matrix (orange-brown). There appear to be other possibly prepared spaces (below floating cobbles) at this level - bottom of E526 - but no other features or in situ vessels yet. In E527 we have come down on 'floors' with light clay preparations, niches, and an in situ mortar/pestle combination. A mano is also lying here indicating an area of intense pre-processing activity. Green mottling speckling in the clay surrounding these features predominates here. (8/7/05 - green speckling is most likely decomposed rock here.)
