In WSK I was planning to draw the section of the NW baulk before removing the row of rocks to try and find the wall. But cows knocked over the rocks in the night. Turned out for the best since the NW wall was found to be behind that row of rocks. Spent the day exposing and cleaning this wall. In WSL the workers were unable to completely break the large boulder so we rolled it into the west corner to serve as a step. We continued to push back in the NE towards the wall, of which 2-3 courses have been exposed. An interesting feature was revealed in the north/northeast area of WSL. Looks like a stone platform composed of 1 or 2 rows of rocks running closely parallel to the NE wall. Recalls the stone feature along the NW wall of WSC2. Pleased to be observing some patterning across different rooms of the settlement even if not sure what this feature is. One carbon sample was found near the NE wall and another along the NW baulk. These belong to locus 5, which is the top of what I think is the floor, including the clay and plaster surface. A groundstone was also found in locus 5. I started to trowel some of the floor, which seems to have some depressions. Are they pits? Will see tomorrow.
