6/20/06 I created a series of new loci today. Began by tracing the limits of the lighter colored, packed silt in the south and southeast areas of the trench. After designating this areas as locus 6, I divided the rest of room H into two more loci. Locus 7 is the area west of locus 6 and locus 8 is the remainder of room H, including the north and east quadrants of the room. Only locus 6 had a distinctly different matrix. Loci 7 and 8 are a dark brown silt, similar to that of locus 2. Material quantities were high in all loci. It took the entire day to excavate loci 6 and 7. Worked under a light rain in the afternoon.
