7.3.06, It's possible that there have been 2 occupations at this spot--or at least 2 periods of construction. The wall along the West edge of the trench was constructed later than the walls that are just starting to appear along the S edge, so I'm unsure what to expect on the floor--LB or EB? Because of the rain, soil change is difficult to note; however, Locus 7 has been created because of the red/orange/sandy soil that is beginning to appear. It also has clay patches. Today, we're excavating with the trowels. We're taking out a lot of the rocks and trying to get the floor flat--and we were successful. So we're opening up the opposite side of the wall that appears to be running n/s across the trench--locus 8. We're also cleaning off a lot of the rocks. There is also a troubling line of charcoal under the W wall, but it is not continuous across the trench.
