Today began with a freezing, FREEZING morning which made work extremely difficult. Fortunately, there was no precipitation and T2E was drier than it had been in 10 days. We continued digging in E640, cleaning a roughly N/S section in the middle of the pit as well as several exposed cobbles and boulders. We then drew the pit section and completed a project photograph. This was followed by further rock pulling and excavation of the pit, including the discovery of a paste bead with hatched decoration. High bone frequencies continued all day in E640. When the pit had been excavated to almost ¾ of its contents (except for the portion underneath the later basin construction) we discovered a cylinder seal approximately 30cm below the basin. We soon reached the base of the pit, granite bedrock covered with clay, over 1.5m below the pit rim. We also continued downwards in locus E624 today with moderate material densities and lower charcoal concentrations than were in locus E634.
