7/18/06 It was a half day in the field today, since we were leaving for Lake Sevan in the afternoon. I was eager to make progress in WSH locus 15, but the soil was still too wet to screen for the first few hours of the day. We dug up the soil of this locus and by noon we were able to continue screening. While waiting for WSH 15 to dry, I created a new locus, locus 4, in the south corner of WSI, and also continued to excavate WSI locus 2. Finally, we continued to work in locus 9 of WSG, screening the matrix. A broken fragment of a basalt stone polisher was found in WSI locus 4. We began troweling clean the architecture in this corner of the trench, which is proving to be a very well-made wall.
