We continued today to excavate the locus E644 section extension of the south wall of T2E while at the same time descending in locus E624, the southern half of our mid-trench LB pit. EB ceramics continued to pop up in moderate frequencies from the southern half of this pit where it cuts our locus E618 EB floor. Upon descending in locus E624 to the same elevation as the base of locus E634 we took closing elevations and began to excavate the entire pit as locus E645. LB ceramics spiked here as we cleared the highly clayey matrix from areas adjacent to the still descending wall. Additional boulders now appear to be sitting atop several LB vessels, possibly in situ. We also opened a cache of river pebbles and small ground-stone tools in the extreme NE quadrant of locus E645 (now a locus E646 cache). In the trench's NW quadrant we opened locus E547, a 10cm cut below the EB floor excavated here in 2005. Material densities are very low as this likely represents fill between earlier and later EB levels. In our southern trench extension we almost completed the removal of our locus E544 topsoil with very low amounts of materials.
