07/07/2006.Burial 1: We started excavating locus 7, the chamber. On the west side is an orange brown clay matrix with some gravel or decayed stone (back/grey basalt). There is also some lighter beige matrix that is more powdery or crumbly, but this may be the orange dried out. The eastern side is a more dark brown matrix that is very wet, but seems to be more silt loam, although also with some clay; much easier to excavate. Burial 3: yesterday Edgar and Harout cut out a large rectange in the western part of the cromlech that didn't have any rocks overing it... I thought they were working outside of it, not in it. However, they did find a very large flat capstone, which means that there are at least 2 we can now see. It may be 2 chambers but we cannot see how they may be related yet. This cromlech seems to have an almost kurgan like covering (breast plate).
