7/12/2006, In addition to cleaning our EB floor, we're taking down locus 8 and leveling it with the LB fortress wall that has been looming since the beginning of the excavation. We're being careful to stay about 50 cm away from the EB wall, since we do not want it to fall down. We also found an andiron in Locus 9, which is surrounded by burnt clay, unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any charcoal in that area. In fact, the charcoal remains rare. Some ceramic sherds were removed after lunch because they were being damaged both by us and the sun. We left the majority covered overnight with celophane.
