7/17/2006, Took pollen samples from the floor of EB room. Laid out a grid and implemented a new system which will need to be integrated into the database and have to discuss with Adam. One sample was taken from approx. every meter from the EB floor. Macrobotanical samples were also taken from the EB floor (Locus 9). Both of these samples will be great for analysis of the floor (especially in addition to all the others taken from the floor--though separate loci and compared with Armine's). We've hit the floor in Locus 8, which is being changed to Locus 14. We're also beginning to remove soil from near the wall of the EB room (that runs N/S across the trench) in hopes of finding the continuation of the floor in Locus 9. (Thus far, unsuccesfully). It seems that first impressions of the ceramics from Locus 14 point to LB, which will be interesting since it is lower than the EB floor.
