7.19.06, Samvel is out sick today. He is driving, but not working, so we're down one. That's alright because we're using trowels anyway. There are huge pieces of charcoal throughout Locus 14. We're taking down Locus 8 to the level of Locus 14. After we finish this, we're going to clean/remove the rocks that are rested against the fortress wall. There is burnt clay (maybe) in locus 14, but again it is sketchy and only in pieces mixed with so much charcoal (perhaps the burn layer?). Locus 14 is composed of charcoal, a light clay, and fine silt. Many macrobot samples have been taken and C14.
