7/22/06 It was a relatively slow day today, in terms of work. The US Ambassador John Evans visited us today, along with his staff and family. Also, today we worked a half day because of the soccer game against Gegharot. As a result, there is not much to report on todays excavations. In WSG, the morning hours were dedicated to taking pollen samples from the floor of locus 17, which was gridded into 28 1-meter squares. In both WSH and WSG, I spent time taking several closing locus elevations. Otherwise, there were no new developments in WSH. In WSI, we continued in locus 13 and locus 14, cleaning the walls in the former and excavating in the latter. Also spent some time working in locus 6 of this operation, cleaning the walls for Hasmik to eventually draw. Elizabeth worked in WSC3 today, and we started off the morning by squaring off that operation into a 9 x 13 m trench.
