8/2/06, This morning began raining, but the weather has improved a little as the day went on. Narek did not show up today, and his sub showed up very late, so Alan has sent 2 guys to make up for the loss. We're continuing to take down locus 24, trying to clean mostly. We've removed a lto of the rocks from against the fortress wall. There continue to be a ton of sherds there as well. In locus 22, there are large pithos sherds. We're taking it down with trowels. All dirt is being screened. Mageech was sent home, so we're down a guy. We've opened a new locus--locus 25, which is defined by the pithos. In addition to the pithos, we've found some beads in this locus, and therefore we're using very small screens to screen all the dirt.
