Morning: Back at Tsakahovit. RB and I worked this morning to establish permanent datum points around the site with rebar set in concrete. Also shot in the C5 and WT2/3 trenches. Benchmarks are now labelled as Bm with alphabetic designations. E.G. The fixed station atop Tsakahovit, in addition to being mapping station 1, is BmA. We set up three Bm today (A-C): one atop the citadel at the metal benchmark and two below the south and southwest slopes.
Afternoon Rounds:
WT3: Trench is finished. We are opening WT2 as a southern extension of my 1998 WT1 trench.
NT1: We are opening the floor in Area A and it appears to be pretty clean--curiously no architecture ther edespite the wall fall removed from just above it. A new line of stones has appeared in Area B that runbs WNW from the SE corner to the NW. It looks pretty flimsy and may well be a small sub-terrace wall that supports a slightly raised paltform behind it. We are also cleaning the topsoil from the SW balk so Hasmik can plan views of all the walls.
