8.7.06, There's been so little time for notes! In 26, there is a beautiful wall, which is both more courses and deeper than the other walls in the trench. Unfortunately, we don't have time to finish this area of the trench. We're cleaning Locus 25, so it looks like locus 26, which Roman and Vaktan did a great job cleaning. Tomorrow we'll be drawing the trench, at least part, the wall in locus 9, N edge. We're going to be taking out some of the rocks so we can understand the area around the very large pithos jar. In locus 24, we're cleaning and getting a flat surface. We've taken out all the ceramics, but it seems that there was no clear floor. We continue to find ceramics at every level. Locus 14 may have possibly been an LB level, as evidenced by the high quantity of charcoal, as well as the necklace and paved floor (locus 18). It remains unclear what the relationship is between the new section of the trench to the N and the old trench is because we have not had time to excavate it all. We plan now to clean everything we have and to get ready to draw it. There was a large stone pendant found in locus 25 near the pithos as well as a small wheel or spindle whorl. We found a possible andiron in situ, this will be locus 28.
