Morning Rounds:
Trench C3: Helped Tiffany draw her Area A southern balk to show organic deposits. Continuing excavation in Area B through wash below topsoil. In area C we are cleaning and cutting back the Eastern balk to reveal the interior fortification wall.
Trench NT1: Have layed out a 4x5m trench named 'NT1c' 1m to the west of area B. Area A is largely finished as Lauren has exposed an uneven clay floor atop bedrock. In Area B, we continue excavation in the small area north of the apparent 'sub-terrace' wall. I think it likely this will continue down to the same level as A. But soon it will be difficult to dig. So we will draw the N section today, make a photo and remove the balk.
Trench WT2/3: Ian is drawing the East section today for WT3. Work continuing in WT2 through layer of wash/small rocks similar to that in NE corner of WT3. Very low material densities.
Afternoon Rounds:
Trench C3: Pavel has traced a thin line of what looks like plaster resting atop the first organic layer. Possible hypothesis: after initial LBA destruction of site, citadel was reoccupied in much reduced form.
