8.15.06 Work proceeded in WSH, WSI, and WSC3 today. In WSH, we spent the entire day cleaning the entire trench over, including the tops and interiors of walls and the floor, for final photos. Didn't finish. Will continue tomorrow. In WSC3, work proceeded in locus 7, and the large rock in the middle of the room was finally broken and removed. In WSI, we continued to excavate locus 20, and in the process exposed more of the flagstone floor, which is proving to seem more like a path of some sort rather than a floor. The stone feature extends from the south corner towards the northwest, where it narrows to a double row of rocks. Also, another stone feature was exposed today, a line or rocks jutting out from the northwest wall and extending parallel to the northeast baulk. Not at all clear what function this serves, but it seems quite different from the locus 22 stone feature in the south quadrant of the trench. Another new locus created today was locus 23, which covers the area on top of the northwest wall.
