8.17.06 Was happy to have Jane Rempel and Elissa Faro visit Tsaghkahovit today. Work proceeded in WSC3 locus 8 and in WSI locus 26. By the end of the day we had reached the bottom of locus 26, where we are clearly upon a mottled clay and silty floor. I decided to next excavate the area just to the southeast of locus 26, the sliver of more clayish silt that hugs the southeast wall. This is locus 27. Work resumed in WSG today as well, where I created a new locus, locus 26, in the west corner of the trench to bring the tan clay matrix here down to the level of the bottom course of the stones that line this doorway. Also cleaned locus 14 in WSG, the area behind the southeast wall, in preparation for Hasmik.
