8.19.06 It was a busy day in the field today. Hasmik felt ill in the morning, so she went home. I spent the morning working in room I, making a grid of the floor (locus 29) and taking 40 pollen samples from each grid square. Also took 3 macrobot samples from the floor. Created loci for the two column bases and also created a new locus, locus 32, for a probe in the east quadrant of the room, in order to see if there's another floor beneath locus 29. I think not. We're encountering a sterile clay and sand about 15 cm under the locus of the floor. Also worked in WSH today, creating loci for the column bases there and drawing and photographing them. Finally, work proceeded in WSC3 locus 8, where the airated medium brown silt seems to continue a bit further to the southeast. I expanded the locus by 50cm in that direction.
