Today we continued to remove backdirt from AB1, exposing the complete length of the wall, but not the complete depth yet. Bedrock was uncovered completely on the trench's southern and eastern margins, and the interior room area is now down to a single level. We uncovered the plastic covering on the western side of AB1, but were not yet able to remove it completely. A portion of an EB zoomorphic andiron (ram head?) was found during the cleaning, near the northeast corner of AB1. Tomorrow we plan to finish the trench cleaning, begin excavation of the unexcavated portion of the 2006 season, and lay out a new trench, likely directly to the west of AB1. 6-27-08
