Narrative

Survey of crop fields enclosing territory between Gegharot, Pambak mountains and road. 19 crop-fields were surveyed. 17 of those fields represented hulled two-rowed barley and only 2 of them belonged to hulled six-rowed barley. The weed composition (several dozen species) of each field-crop was recorded. Some species (unknown for me) were collected for future identification. During crop-fields survey I reach a hill with tombs (more than 10) on top and with obsidian and ceramic artifacts on surface. The hill is situated several km to north-east from Gegharot site, on south slopes of Pambak massif. The hill is situated between two water pass ways, it has convexity in south slope from where ground waters are coming out and forming arc like traces. There is another larger and higher hill to north of the site hill. The bottom of west slope of hill is eroded; ancient soils buried under eroded sediments are visible on natural section. There are obsidian artifacts in this section. Generally artifacts found only from south and west slopes of hill. Tombs are several m in diameter, circularly edged with stones and several small cap-stones are present in center. Tombs present only on top of the hill. There is something like wall (~10 m) on the west border of hill top. Large view of plain is visible from the hill. In all probability this site was unknown before.
