Spent the day working in the wash deposit of locus 05. Material densities were a bit lower than yesterday, particularly toward the center of the locus (densities are higher closer to the walls and corners). Along all of the walls, extending about 1.5 to 2.0 meters towrad the interior, we are beginning to see the lighter brown or tannish matrix that distinguished locus 04. Once locus 06 is leveled off, I will segregate these areas as separate loci, probably by Sunday. By the end of today, two courses of stones were visible in places along the northwest wall. The masonry is slightly different from the northwest wall of WSG and WSH... more smaller stones interspersed among the larger stones. Several large rocks are now visible in the room interior, particularly in the western part of locus 05. These are probably fallen, but I won't remove them until we go about ten centimeters lower to make sure there are no rocks beneath them. Since today is a holiday, we only worked until 3pm.
