Today we continued to dig the extension down, and it is now in the wash layer, not just topsoil. We removed a number of small cobbles from the new N corner; although it is interesting that the small rocks clustered there (also before the extension), they do not appear to be anything significant as they are considerably higher than the architecture, and also still in the wash layer. It rained last night (fairly heavily), and so some of the dirt from the extension washed into the room, locus 3, and we spent a good part of today re-digging that out. We also better articulated the E wall, so that I can spend more time drawing the rocks and trying to understand whether we have an interesting pavement or feature, or just some wall-fall. (I hope I have pavement!) Today was a short day, we left at 3, due to Independence Day.
